JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In this JAMB Brochure for Accounting, we have also, included the right subject combination for your UTME registration. In UTME, note that the English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Accounting under the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences in the institutions listed above are:

Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) EKSU require Economics, Mathematics, and any Social Science subject.

(ii) BOWEN requires Government for Public Administration.

(iii) UNIBEN (for Public Administration) requires Government/History, one Social Science subject and any other subject.

(iv) UNICAL requires Government, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Accounting and Commerce.

(v) WESTERN-DEL (For Business Administration) requires Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject.

(vi) AUE requires five credit passes to English Language, Mathematics and any threes from Economics, Geography, Commerce, Government, Accounts and Book-Keeping at not more than two sittings.

(vii) UMYUK requires for Public Administration Government or History.

(viii) NTNU accepts Economics/Principle of Accounting and any two Arts or Social Sciences subjects.

(ix) CRESCENT:
(a) for Business Administration requires Mathematics, English Language, Economics and Government/Commerce or any other social science subject.
(b) For Accounting requires English Language, Economics, Mathematics and Geography/Commerce/ Government.

(x) OOU accepts Mathematics/Economics and any two other Social Science subjects.

(xi) BAYERO requires Government or History plus two other Social Science subjects.

(xii) MOUA requires one of Government, Principles of Account, CRK and Geography as the fourth subject.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Accounting as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other relevant subjects

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNIILORIN requires ‘O; level credit passes in any three of Accounting, Business Method, Commerce, Geography, Economics, Statistics and Government.

(ii) CRESCENT;
(a) for Business Administration requires Five (5) O’level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any two of the following: Commerce, Geography and Statistics is required.
(b) For Accounting requires five credits passes in SSCE/GCE/O’ Level/NECO which include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two social science subjects at not more than two sittings.

(iii) RENAISSANCE accept Commerce in lieu of Economics.

(iv) RENAISSANCE requires five credit passes to include Mathematics, English Language, Economics or Accounting.

(v) GO requires Five SSCE credit passes in not more than two sittings in subjects which include English Language, Mathematics and Economics.

(vi) REDEEMER’S requires Five ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects in Social Sciences.

(vii) AAU requires five credit passes including English, Mathematics, Economics, Government/History and any other subject. AAU can accept History/Government. AAU also accepts Mathematics

(viii) WESTERN-DEL (for Business Administration) requires five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Accounts, one other Social Science subject and anyone other subjects of choice.

(ix) BELLS requires a pass in Physics for Business Computing and Information Technology.

(x) UNICAL requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two of Arts or Social Science subjects.

(xi) KWASU:
(a) For Accounting requires five O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting and any other social science subject.
(b) For Business Administration requires five O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two social science subjects preferably Business Studies/Commerce or English Language, Mathematics, Government and any two social science subjects.

(xii) GO accepts
(a) For Business Administration and Marketing credit pass in Commerce in lieu of Economics.
(b) For Public Administration five SSCE credit passes in English, Mathematics, Government or History or Commerce and two other subjects.

(xiii) UMYUK accepts
(a) Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant Social Science subjects in not more than two sittings.
(b) For Business Administration, credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and any two Social Science subjects.
(c) For Public Administration, five credit passes or its equivalent in English, Mathematics, Government or History and any other two subjects from Arts or Social Science in not more than two sittings.

(xiv) FUNAAB requires two relevant credit passes from any of Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Government or Geography.

(xv) NDA requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Accounting and two other subjects from Commerce, Geography, History, French, Arabic and Government.

(xvi) UNIBEN (for Insurance) – A pass in Further Mathematics is an advantage.

(xvii) UNIBEN (for marketing) requires five credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other subjects at not more than two sittings

(xviii) BABCOCK – A pass in Economics may be considered provided the candidate has a credit pass in Accounting or Commerce.

(xix) MOUA requires two other credit passes from Government, CRK and Geography.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Accounting as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes including Economics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) AAU accepts:
(a) BSc, BA or HND in other disciplines
(b) ND (Upper Credit) in Accounting.
(c) Foundation of ICAN

(ii) UNIILORIN requires ‘A’ level passes in Accounting and at least one of Mathematics, Business Management, Economics, Statistics, Geography and Government plus UTME requirements.

(iii) UNIILORIN Accepts National Diploma in Accounting/Finance plus UTME.

(iv) AAU requires A’ level pass in Accounts. Accepts National Diploma in Accounting, Banking and Finance or Business Management from a recognised institution.
