FG vs ASUU: Court adjourns case until September 16

ASUU denies receiving N100b from the government

A court adjourns until September 16 the case between the federal government and the academic staff union of universities (ASUU).

Judge Polycap Hamman adjourned the case to enable both the federal government to file the necessary documents for the case.

The Federal Government has approached the National Industrial Court (NICN) sitting in Abuja seeking an order that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) resume while the dispute is addressed.

A statement by the Head, Press and Public Relations at the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Olajide Oshundun, said the matter was referred to the Registrar of NICN by the Minister, Chris Ngige, on Thursday, September 8.

ASUU began an initial four-week strike on February 14 and has continued to extend it as talks with the government fail.
