The University of Sydney is inviting students to apply for the Sydney Scholars Awards 2022/2023 for international students. This opportunity is available to outstanding students who wish to undertake an undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney. Also, this program will commence in 2023. Candidates must be full-time Bachelors’s degree students.

Worth of Scholarship

There are 2 Sydney Scholars Awards valued at $6000 per year, which are tenable for 1 to 5 years (including for combined undergraduate degrees):

• $6000 per year for the duration of an undergraduate degree
• $6000 for 1 year of an undergraduate degree.

The Scholarship will be paid in 2 installments. To receive the second installment of the Scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 75. The Scholarship cannot be extended or renewed.

Eligibility for Sydney Scholars Award 

Applicants must either be domestic students (which includes New Zealand citizens), or international students who have recently completed an International Baccalaureate (or educational award equivalent to the HSC), who are applying for admission through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

They must have achieved an ATAR of 95 or above (if they are applying to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music or the Sydney Dental School they must receive an ATAR of 90 or above). They have to be applying in the year that they complete their secondary education.

They should have achieved excellent results in their NSW Higher School Certificate Examination or international equivalent. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, and a personal statement in support of scholarship application.

The University is looking for all-round students who demonstrate leadership skills and involvement in school, community, and extracurricular activities.

How To Apply for Sydney Scholars Award 

From April 2022 up until January 2023, you must have Sydney listed as one of your preferred universities. Please be aware that we will not be able to access your ATAR and therefore provide you with a scholarship if you do not include one of our courses in your preferences. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney to be eligible for a scholarship.
