What’s the best place to study on campus? That’s a great question, and one we thought about quite often during our years of college and university.
To answer it, we put together this list of the top 5 best places to study on campus, based on our experiences at school and with other students around the country.
We also want to hear from you—if you have your own opinions about where to study on campus, please let us know in the comments!
1) The Library
The library is by far the best place to study in university. It’s quiet, and you don’t have to worry about distractions or getting too tired.
You’ll get a lot more studying done at the library than anywhere else.
There are usually places available to work on group projects and it’s always nice to spend some time with your friends when they’re working too.
If there isn’t an open table, try finding one in the stacks so that you’re not surrounded by strangers and are instead able to enjoy your alone time as well as some peace and quiet.
Many of the tables will already be set up for group work, which is great if you want to find someone to study with.
There are tons of resources for research including encyclopedias, journals and databases which can help you find exactly what you need for whatever class you may be taking.
They also have magazines and books that you can read while you’re sitting around waiting for others to show up.
That way, if they come in late, they might still find something interesting to do while they wait.
2) Your Dorm Room
It’s true that your dorm room is often the first place you think of when it comes to studying at school, but there are other spots that are just as good if not better.
The best thing about these spots is that they’re free!
That means you don’t have to spend money and can save for something more important like a graduation gift or extra food for the week.
If you know someone who has a spare bed in their room then don’t forget about asking them for some help with homework or any other project.
3) The Student Union
The Student Union is one of the best places to study on campus. You have access to a computer lab, coffee shop, and snack bar all in one area.
Plus, there are plenty of tables where you can spread out your work.
It’s also a great place to meet people! Ask for a table near someone else studying and strike up a conversation.
If they’re not studying too hard, they may be able to help you out or at least point you in the right direction.
I know I’ve come across answers while chatting with other students.
And if that doesn’t happen, then you’ve made a new friend!
Imagine how productive you’ll be when you do get stuck just send them an email asking for their opinion.
It easy to get some fresh air during breaks without even leaving the building. But remember: don’t forget about meeting friends inside!
4) Outside
If the weather is good, there’s no better place to study than outside. In the meantime, if you’re lucky enough to have a library on campus, then that’s usually the best place.
Most libraries are quieter and less busy than regular classrooms, which makes it easier to concentrate.
However, even though many people love reading in public places because it helps them feel more relaxed and focused, some people find the lack of privacy frustrating and distracting.
So if you want an environment with few distractions, a library or quiet spot on campus might be perfect for your studying needs.
There’s also something to be said about studying at home versus on campus, so if you think you’ll have trouble staying focused while away from home then try one of these locations.
Some other popular spots are coffee shops like Starbucks or The Grind House Cafe- although sometimes they can get quite noisy during peak hours.
5) The Cafeteria
It can be hard to choose where to study, so here are the top five best places at a university that you should think about.
The first option is the cafeteria.
Cafeterias often have lounge chairs and tables with plenty of space for studying, so it’s a great place if you’re looking for a quieter environment.
They also usually have coffee shops or other fast food options nearby.
Also, it gives you a nice break from all of those people around campus. The fourth option is outside by one of the many buildings on campus.
Conclusion
You should pick where to study based off what you need or want out of that specific place.
For example, if you need peace and quiet go to the library.
If you want a change of scenery go to the quad. If you want coffee go there as well!
