  • You must have completed secondary education with a minimum of five (5) credit points at the Ordinary Level Examination/General Certificate of Education.
  • You must be in good health and have no physical or mental disabilities or contagious diseases.
  • English Language Proficiency Certificate is required
  • You must be able to live and study in Germany for at least one year.
  • You must have a block account with the fund as a deposit before your arrival in Germany, you need to open this block account immediately after you get admission. The deposit will be returned to you when you arrive in Germany for your studies. The block account is where you deposit the required amount of money to cover your academic and personal expenses during your first year in Germany. According to estimates, a Nigerian student’s annual expenses in Germany amount to €9,600. This is how much money you would need to deposit into the account to cover your expenses.
  • You will also be required to pay tuition fees and other costs related to your studies based on the course of study that you choose. These costs may include tuition fees; residence expenses (in the case of accommodation); health insurance; laboratory supplies and materials; textbooks; travel costs for field trips and excursions; medical insurance; miscellaneous expenses such as telephone charges, internet access, postage, and transport costs for personal items sent from Nigeria to Germany and vice versa.

How long does it take to get a German student visa from Nigeria?

The visa process can take anywhere between 1 to 3 months. Students who apply during the academic year will likely receive their visas faster due to the low volume of applications.
