Lagos teacher is the best teacher in Nigeria

Miss Adeola Adefemi, an English teacher at Oke-Odo Senior High School, Alimosho in Lagos State, was adjudged the best teacher in Nigeria by the Federal Ministry of Education at a recent national event held in Abuja to mark World Teachers Day .

Presenting the award to Adefemi, Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo said the event was aimed at recognizing exceptional teachers for their incalculable contributions to the growth and development of society.

The Federal Government has recognized Adefemi’s exceptional commitment to the promotion of high quality education by presenting him with a brand new car. She is also known for being a very innovative teacher who teaches young people inside and outside the classroom and focuses especially on the disadvantaged members of her community.

Mrs Bolanle Alamu, who works at the Government Senior College in Agege, was also recognized as the Y2022 Second Runner Up for Best School Administrator in the Public School category. During the Lagos State Teachers’ Merit Award Ceremony which took place in June 2022, Mrs. Alamu previously awarded the 2021 Senior Secondary School Administrator Award.

Michael Adeniyi, a teacher at the Caleb British International School in Lagos, emerged as the first runner-up in the Best Teacher, Private Senior Secondary School category for the Year 2022 competition.
