FUTO Registration for fresh students has commenced for the 2023/2024 academic session. Whenever the Federal University of Technology, Owerri – FUTO admission list for fresh UTME and DE students is released or a new academic session resumes, the next line of action is the registration procedures for freshly admitted students.

This post will intimate all fresh students of the necessary steps to be taken in registering for this academic session. This will clear all doubts and confusion associated with registering for your courses, hostel registration, payment of acceptance, and school fees.

Please note that this information is vital for both fresh students only so all that is required of you is to follow the step-by-step procedures below and you are good to go.

Upon registration, freshers are expected to have the following documents as they would be needed for either upload to the FUTO admission portal or for imputing necessary details during the registration process.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR REGISTRATION FOR FRESH STUDENTS AT FUTO

i) Birth Certificate

ii) LGA Identification Letter

iii) JAMB Result slip printed directly from JAMB’s website

iv) JAMB Admission Letter printed directly from JAMB’s website

FUTO REGISTRATION PROCEDURES FOR FRESH STUDENTS 2022/2023 ACADEMIC SESSION

To register as a fresh student, please follow the following steps as seen below;

Step 1: Visit the University website – futo.edu.ng

Step 2: Click on “Prospective student

Step 3: Click on “Check Admission Status” to confirm your admission

Step 4: Chose the option “Click here to Check 2022/2023 Undergraduate Admission Status”

Step 5: Enter your JAMB REG NO and click on submit button to view your admission status

Step 6: After confirming your admission click on the link “Click here to Continue with the Admission Registration

Step 1: Update your O’level details by supplying your O’Level exam year, exam number, and O’Level result scratch card pin.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Candidates combining two results are required to supply two result scratch card pins based on the examination body.

PORTAL ACCOUNT VERIFICATION

Step 1: Click on the link ‘Portal’ on the website home page

Step 2: Then click on “Verify your Account” to generate portal login details.

Step 3: Get account details with the JAMB Registration number as the default username and password.

Step 4: Log in with your username and password

Step 5: Click on “Change Password” to change your password

PAY ACCEPTANCE FEES

Step 1: Log in to the Portal https://portal.futo.edu.ng/ with your Username and Password

Step 2: Click on “Pay Acceptance” to generate your payment invoice

Step 3: Print your invoice and proceed to any bank to pay using your RRR code on the invoice.

Step 4: Also, you have the option of paying by using the online payment options with credit/debit cards such as Verve, Visa, and MasterCard.

Step 5: After successful payment in the bank and online, print the FUTO admission letter and Confirmation of admission form.

PAY FEES

Step 1: Log in to the portal with your Username and Password

Step 2: Click on “Pay Fees” to generate your payment invoice

Step 3: Print your invoice and proceed to any bank for payment.

Step 4: Alternatively, you can make payment using the online payment options with credit/debit cards such as Verve, Visa, and MasterCard.

Step 5: After successful payment in a bank, return to the portal portal.futo.edu.ng and log in with your account details to print the FUTO school fees e-receipt with the RRR code on the invoice.

Fees e-Receipt

  • Click the “Pay Fees” menu
  • Select the required payment details
  • Print the School Fees Receipt
  • The Portal automatically assigns a matriculation number.

NOTE that only candidates who have printed their FUTO school fees e-receipts will be captured in the school fees report used for registration.

PROFILE DETAILS

Step 1: Click on Fill Profile details.

Step 2: Enter the required information in the field.

Step 3: Ensure your entry level is entered accurately (Year of admission)

Step 4: Click on submit button to complete your profile details.

Step 5: Print the profile information slip.

Step 6: Complete and print the validity form and acceptance letter.

CONFIRMATION OF ADMISSION AND COLLECTION OF GREEN FILES

(date and Venue for registration will be communicated in due course)

A) Required documents for the confirmation of admission/Collection of Green files:

i) JAMB Result slip printed directly from JAMB’s website

ii) JAMB Admission Letter printed directly from JAMB’s website

iii) FUTO PUTME Result Slip

iv) O’Level Statement of Results

v) Confirmation of Admission form printed from the FUTO website

vi) FUTO admission Letter

vii) School Fees Receipt

viii) Candidate’s Profile Slip, Validity Form with passport, and Signed Acceptance Letter (all printed from the FUTO website)

ix) Birth Certificate

x) LGA Identification Letter

xi) Direct Entry Credentials – A’Level certificate, OND/HND/Degree statements of results (for Direct Entry candidates only).

University Admissions Officer uses the verified results/Certificates to authenticate the Admission Letter or assigns the candidate to another Department as the case may be.

  1. Completion of forms in the Green files and Submission of the Files to the Departments for further necessary actions.
  2. Other clearance
  3. Registration at the Health Services and University Library.

(Note that the completion of registration in the Health Services and the University Library will be a requirement for the issuance of the e-ID card)

NOTE

All admitted Direct Entry Students are required to inform their institution to forward their Academic Transcript to the Registrar, Federal University of Technology, Owerri. P.M.B. 1526.

After matriculation, the student proceeds to the admissions unit of the registry to sign the Matriculate form within one (1) week.

This Matriculation from the admissions unit will serve as the input for the issuance of e-ID cards to Fresh students.

HOSTEL ALLOCATION

Step 1: Click the “Hostel Allocation” menu

Step 2: Click on “Generate Hotel reservation”

Step 3: Enter the required details

Step 4: Select the type of hostel

Step 5: Generate Hostel Allocation payment invoice

Step 6: Proceed to FUTO MFB for payment with the generated payment invoice.

Step 7: After successful payment in a bank, return to the portal with the ePin generated in a bank.

Step 8: Click on Print Hostel reservation receipt to print the allocated ROOM.

Note:  You will be required to print the allocated room on the receipt and proceed to the Student Affairs Unit for further clearance

ONLINE COURSE REGISTRATION

Step 1: Click the Course Registration menu and select the Register Courses

Step 2: Select the Session and Semester and click the Submit

Step 3: Select your courses for that semester and click the Submit button,

Step 4: Print the registered courses

ONLINE RESULT CHECKING

  • Click the Result menu and select the View result
  • Select the semester and session and click the Submit button
  • Print the online semester result slip.

REMARKS

Students are once more reminded that payment of school fees is compulsory and this payment will give students access to:

  • Obtaining Matriculation Number automatically
  • Online Course Registration
  • Semester Examination
  • Campus WiFi.

What Are the Requirements For FUTO Registration?

The registration requirements for the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) include:
1. Admission letter: This is the letter of admission issued to you by the university after you have been offered provisional admission.

10. FUTO registration form: You will need to fill out the FUTO registration form and submit it along with the other requirements.

What is the Jamb Pass Mark for FUTO?

FUTO’s JAMB cut-off mark is 180 for all courses. This means that candidates who scored 180 and above in the JAMB UTME are eligible to apply for admission into FUTO.
