The university’s official address is Federal University Lafia, P.M.B. 146, Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria.

On June 20, 2019, the Governing Council decided to change the name of the university to the Federal University of Lafia. This correction was based on the amendment of the university’s name outlined in the Gazette of the Federal University Lafia (Establishment) Act 2015.
