In this article, I have made a list of Canadian Universities Without Application Fee for International Students and I believe you will find it very helpful. Many international students spend a fortune on application fees applying for admission into Canadian Universities. Fortunately, they are some Canadian universities to which you can apply while saving some money in the form of an application fee.

Canadian Universities Without Application Fee

In this article, I’ve compiled a list of Canadian universities without an application fee for international students. These universities give a waiver to international students and you too can be a beneficiary.

Studying in Canada

Canada, without doubts, has become of the best student destinations in the world. Factors that make Canada the best destination for living and studying include their improved standard of living in general, the quality of education and numerous career opportunities for both indigenous citizens and international students and migrants.

So, there may be no justification for asking why someone should consider Canada for living or studying.

To make your journey better and affordable, we made this list to guide you through the various applications that don’t require money.

Studying in Canada will require an applicant to meet certain requirements. One of the most important being the application fee. Most Canadian universities charge $100 CAD as an application fee.

These application fees are non-refundable and once you’ve applied and made the payment, it’s gone. If you are considered for admission, fine, if you are not considered for admission, not bad either, but the application fees can never be refunded.

Many international students have lost hope of studying abroad due to the amount they have spent on application without being considered by any of the universities or at least get a refund of the money they spent.

Some might be asking if there is any university in Canada that accept and review your application at no cost? Well, there are a few of them, and we’ll be taking a look at some of them.

Importantly, you need to understand that they’re two types of Universities in Canada; public and privately funded. The no application fee waiver is mostly for public-funded universities and some of them are listed below.

1. University of Alberta

International students can now apply to the University of Alberta without an application fee. This $100 CAD graduate application fee is waived for applicants only from the least developed countries.

To benefit from this waiver, your citizenship, mailing address, AND your home address must be from one of these countries or you will be expected to pay the $100 CAD non-refundable application fee.

2. Royal Roads University

Royal Roads University is one of few universities in Canada that do not charge an application fee from international students. As an international undergraduate or postgraduate student, you won’t be charged a dime and your admission application will still be given due consideration.

3. University of Calgary

You can also apply to the University of Calgary without an application fee. However, this is only applicable to citizens of seven countries by the U.S travel ban.

The University of Calgary will waive the admission application fee for undergraduate and graduate admission for citizens from the seven countries affected by the U.S. travel ban, to ensure students have every opportunity to pursue or complete their studies.

4. Quest University International

International students can apply to study at Quest University International with no application fee. However, you must apply online before the application deadline. They may charge a fee to accept applications coming after the application deadline.

Quest University is a privately funded institution located in Squamish, British Columbia. The school is small, only housing about 700 students yearly. They focus most of their specialties on the Liberal Arts and Sciences.

5. Fairleigh Dickinson University

Fairleigh Dickinson University does accept an application fee of $25 CAD. However, if you’re applying online, you don’t need to pay an application fee. This is the only method of application when the institution is willing to waive your application fee.

6. Mount Allison University

International students can also apply to study at Mount Allison University without an application fee. To benefit from the application fee waiver, you need to apply online. However, you need to pay $100 CAD as a registration deposit after you’re admitted by the university.

7. Booth University College

Booth University College is one of the universities international students can apply to in Canada without an application fee. The University only asks students to pay a non-refundable fee of $500 CAD only after they’ve been admitted.

It is a good alternative to regular non-refundable application fees because you do not provide the payment at the moment of filling out the application form.

8. Redeemer University

Redeemer University is situated in the beautiful city of Ontario, Canada. The school is more of a ‘religious’ university as they combine most of its academic activities with religious rite.

So if you’ll be staying abroad, say Canada, for your degree or postgraduate courses, Redeemer University also doesn’t accept application fees from its foreign students but they charge a late registration fee, too, just like the Quest University.

Essence, if you’ll be seeking admission into this school without paying a dime for as application fee, it’s advisable that you apply on time before the application closing date.
