After the long wait, I am glad to let you know that ABSU cut off mark for the 2020/2021 academic session has been released. This cut off mark is the latest which was released following the order given by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board(JAMB). You can now check the ABSU cut off mark for your department here.
ABSU CUT OFF MARK 2020(JAMB)
Following the new admission procedure, the Joints Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had given a benchmark of 160 and above for candidates applying for Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of
Education. Hitherto, the Abia State University has followed suit in the 160 general cut of mark of JAMB. You might ask questions like: I had 180 and above but was not still given the admission to study my desired course? Candidates with higher scores are first considered; in admission basics, candidates with lower scores though might meet the cut off mark of 160 may likely not be admitted. In fact, it is the higher your scores, the higher the chance of being admitted. Also if you have a low score in jamb, a high score in post UTME can give you a higher chance of getting admission.

ABSU Departmental Cutoff Mark.
For years now, ABSU has not made their departmental cut off mark public. If we should judge with previous years, then we will be right to say the departmental cut off mark for 2020 will not be made public.
ABSU MODE OF ADMISSION SCREENING 2020
Abia State University holds her admission screening exercises within a week or a couple of weeks and it usually comes in two phases. Students who applied to study in the school are to proceed for the pre-screening exercise when once it is being announced. Documents required for the pre-screening exercise are: SSCE
result and JAMB registration print out only.
It is often important that a candidate arrive early and locate his/her screening venue early. Candidates will be screen on the JAMB scores and their SSCE results.
The second phase of the screening is after the admission lists might have been released. Candidates who have merited the admission will be invited for another screening exercise.

N/B: Cases of awaiting results will NOT be accepted.

3.A letter of good conduct from your Village Head or a responsible member of your community/or civil servant not below Grade Level 10 or equivalent in the private sector.

Abia State University is a state-owned university. The institution was created to expand admissions and bring professional skills, expertise, and modern research facilities close to the city and rural dwellers. It has also helped talented students to obtain higher education. The inception of the university was in 1981 in the former Imo State under the name of Imo State University, Etiti. The university was established by Sam Mbakwe when he was Governor of old Imo State. The main campus was located at Etiti, Imo State, while the Law Department was located in a separate Campus at Aba. Between 1984 and 1985 under the military governorship of General Ike Nwachukwu, the university moved to its permanent site at Uturu Okigwe. Following the creation of Abia State in 1991, the Uturu campus of the University was ceded to Abia State and is now known as Abia State University Uturu, Isukwuato Local Government Area, Abia State, Nigeria. The university is organized in colleges and schools having been founded on the same collegiate system operated by the University of Nebraska.
Abia State University offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees. It has two campuses- its main campus in Uturu; and the College of Law, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine housed by the campus in Umuahia, Abia State capital.
